Jamrock Lounge & Grill: Reviews & Ratings
The food was so good!! I wish that they had more ital choices but that being said the ackee and saltfish spring rolls were soooo good!!!! 1000% worth the gluten allergy reaction I had!!! The Mojito was amazing as well!!!
I literally just moved to Calgary, and I saved this restaurant in my list of food places to eat at during my first week. The oxtails in Calgary from this restaurant are chef's kiss . Since living in Québec City for 1yr and 3months, I've been deprived of so much Caribbean food and then some, especially this meal, as it's one of my favorite Jamaican dishes among many like bone-in curry goat, roasted breadfruit, escoveitch snapper and whiting fish, brown stew cow foot and stew chicken feet, stew peas and pigtails, banana, yam, and dumpling with callaloo and saltfish. I digress! The oxtails seasoning was great, tasty, yummy, and tender. The portion size was good, but I was so into this meal I literally could have eaten a second helping of this dish. The rice was cooked very well. Good amount of gravy for me because I don't like my rice wet in gravy. The coleslaw was good too. I wish I could have dined-in but it was too far a trek via public transport at the late hour since I don't have a car. I'm so glad they were willing to deliver to me in Chinatown. I'm looking forward to dining in and ordering the curry goat and treating my sister to their jerk dishes as she likes a lot of jerk Jamaican food. Definitely will order the oxtails again! As a long-time Brooklynite who lived in the heart of the Caribbean in Flatbush, East flatbush, and East New York, Brooklyn, I can assure you these oxtails meet the authentic Jamaican standard. Blessings and big ups to Jamrock Lounge & Grill for feeding my soul .
Glad to have found this place so close to work, getting my Jamaican grub fix is not easier than ever lol. Food her is straight Fyre and service is great as well. Definitely recommend checking this place out! Ox-tail dish is amazing, so much flavor!
Tonight was my first time at Jamrock, and it did not disappoint. I had the soup and the jerk chicken tacos—both were absolutely delicious. Our server, Alyiha, was amazing and took the time to walk us through the menu and answer all our questions. My friend is celiac, and we were really impressed by how many great gluten-free options were available. We had such a great experience. I’ll definitely be back!
I got invited for the sneak peak event prior to opening day next month. And I wasn't disappointed at all. The venue is a great size and it's in a very central location, which makes it easy to get to from all sides of the city. The food was amazing and I can't wait to visit it again. The atmosphere was welcoming and friendly, it was like going home for the weekend and seeing all your friends & Family. I can't wait to visit it again and I would definitely recommend you checking it out. Update: The drinks are amazing. Definitely will back on a regular basis.
I was visiting Calgary (I'm from Toronto). I had the pleasure of eating at this establishment about 2 weeks ago. I had the oxtail dinner (pictured) and their honey jerk chicken wings. The food was very tasty. I only wished that I could take this whole restaurant with me back home to Toronto. The ladies that served me were very friendly and professional. I highly recommend.
Jamrock Lounge & Grill had my taste buds doing a lil’ reggae dance! We smashed curry goat, fish, jerk chicken, and an ackee & saltfish roll—seasoned like the chef’s ancestors were watching, just a tad heavy on the salt. Staff brought pure island vibes, ambiance was smoother than fresh rum punch, and the music had us swaying in our seats. Found them with 4.8⭐ on Google, drove almost 40 mins, and every bite was worth the trip. Next time we’re in Calgary, we’re pulling up hungry!
Food was beyond amazing!!! It’s what I was expecting nice n fresh ugh you gotta eat here, so worth it :) enjoyed every moment I was there. The drinks are fire, the mango margaritas were so good they’re made perfectly, the strawberry daiquiri were blended nicely n not over sweet it was made just right. 10/10 recommend. The akee n salt fish spring rolls were blessed. N the shrimp tacos were beyond…loved them will be coming back for more :)

From my experience and the voices of many patrons, Jamrock Lounge & Grill excels in delivering classic Jamaican staples with genuine care and attention. The oxtails, often heralded as the crown jewel here, stand out for their tender, flavorful meat perfectly complemented by a savory, well-balanced gravy. It’s a dish that echoes authentic Caribbean roots, reminiscent of beloved recipes found in Brooklyn and beyond. The rice is cooked just right, not overwhelmed with gravy but moist and inviting – a testament to the culinary precision behind each plate.
Another highlight that caught my palate’s attention was the ackee and saltfish spring rolls, a creative yet faithful twist that marries tradition with innovation. These spring rolls bring a delightful crunch paired with the unmistakable taste of Jamaica’s national dish, making them a must-try, especially for adventurous eaters seeking unique bites.
Jerk chicken tacos and hearty soups also feature prominently on the menu, providing comforting warmth and layers of spice that linger pleasantly. The blend of spices and herbs in the jerk seasoning is skillful without overpowering, delivering a genuine island fire that excites the senses.
